Astrophotographer Adam Block created a video showing how much the Crab Nebula has expanded over the past 12 years
He took two images of the nebula and placed them over each other and faded in and out. The first image was taken in 1999 by European Southern Observatory using the Very Large Telescope, which was not designed for photography.
