A secret National Security Administration program collecting bulk Internet metadata that began under President George W. Bush continued two years into President Barack Obama's tenure, according to a report.
The news comes by way of The Guardian , which has been for weeks exposing NSA surveillance programs based on leaked material from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.
Classified documents posted by The Guardian reveal the Foreign Surveillance Intelligence Act (FISA) Court began approving bulk Internet metadata surveillance requests every 90 days beginning in 2001.
